Dive into the ultimate Botswana safari experience, where you’ll explore the marvels of Moremi, Savute, and Chobe, and the wildlife-rich, watery paradise of the Okavango Delta. Spend 10 incredible days on safari, tracking elephants, lions, leopards, wild dogs, zebras, buffaloes, impalas, giraffes, and more, before capping off your adventure at the majestic Victoria Falls.

Designed for the budget-savvy adventurer, this trip keeps the group intimate with a maximum of 12 people. You’ll travel in an open safari vehicle and glide through the Delta in traditional mokoro canoes, all under the expert guidance of a qualified guide. Set up camp in wild, unfenced sites, immersing yourself in the sights, sounds, and scents of the African bush. You’ll help with setting up and taking down camp, pitch your canvas tent, and assist your fantastic camp crew with cooking.

Semi-participation: This camping safari requires some participation from guests in setting up their tent and packing it away, in carrying their bag to and from the vehicle at campsites and with general camp chores. You can also help your camp assistant with meal preparation from time to time.

Equipment: 2.1m x 2.1m x 1.75m canvas dome tents. A 5cm thick high density foam mattress is provided for each guest together with a sleeping bag and small pillow. Ablutions are shared long-drops freshly dug by the camp crew at each new campsite and a bucket shower cubicle (freshly heated water is poured into the bucket shower for your use).

Detailed itinerary

Your safari begins in Maun, where your guide will meet you at 7.30am. Your adventure will take you into the eastern fringes of the Okavango Delta, a special corner of paradise. Once you have reached the edge of the Delta, you will meet your polers from the local community with their mokoros (traditional-style dugout canoes).

Glide quietly along reed-lined channels and floodplains, taking in the spectacular scenery of this unique region as you enjoy a tranquil journey deeper into the Delta. Spend two days exploring this beautiful area with mokoro excursions and guided nature walks on the islands and floodplains, camping wild with bush ablutions on one of the small islands of the Okavango.

On day 3, you will start making your way towards the drier regions of Moremi and camp in a concession just outside the Moremi Game Reserve.

Stay at:
Days 1 & 2: Camping on an island in the Okavango Delta with shared bush ablutions.
Day 3: Camp at a community campsite just outside of Moremi Game Reserve with shared bush ablutions.

Early on the morning of Day 4, enter Moremi Game Reserve, covering swamp and dry areas and one of the best wilderness areas of Botswana. The next three days will be spent searching for the wide variety of wildlife and birds that this area is renowned for, while absorbing the sounds and beauty of this region. Safari drives in the early morning as the sun rises, and in the late afternoon as the sun sets will be the norm. After your morning safari drive, you will return to camp for lunch and a siesta. On Day 6, you will move campsites to explore a different area of this diverse park.

Stay at:
Days 4 & 5: Camping in private designated campsites in Western Moremi with shared bush ablutions.
Day 6: Camping in a private designated campsite in Eastern Moremi with shared bush ablutions.

Chobe National Park, with its diverse and striking landscapes, will be your next destination. As you continue your search for wildlife, traverse the drier region of Savuti, where bull elephants dot the plains. You will then head northwards to the Chobe River, where your safari drives will meander along the banks of the river, followed by the call of the majestic African Fish Eagle.

Stay at:
Day 7: Camping in a private designated area in the Savuti area (Savuti Main or Zwei Zwei Pan) with shared bush ablutions.
Days 8 & 9: Camping in private designated areas in the northern part of the Chobe National Park, close to the riverfront, with shared bush ablutions.

Your safari officially ends at 10.00am today.
