Your journey begins with a flight from Lusaka to Mfuwe, followed by a road transfer to Nkwali Camp. Set along a quiet stretch of the Luangwa River, Nkwali enjoys a prime location with direct access to South Luangwa National Park. The camp’s open, thatched chalets make the most of the river views, while the surrounding lagoons and ebony woodland attract a steady flow of wildlife.

Nkwali offers the perfect base from which to explore the rich landscapes and wildlife-filled plains of the Luangwa valley. You have two nights to enjoy Nkwali's relaxed bush atmosphere and the skills of the camp's strong guiding team.

After your morning safari drive and breakfast, a scenic 1–1.5-hour road transfer takes you into the Nsefu Sector, one of South Luangwa’s most captivating and untouched regions. This remote corner of the park is known for its sweeping oxbow lagoons, wide open floodplains and exceptional concentrations of wildlife, creating a feeling of true wilderness. The landscapes here are remarkably diverse, and sightings often unfold against a backdrop of vast, quiet terrain that feels far removed from the busier areas of the valley.

Arriving at Nsefu Camp, you step into one of the Luangwa’s most atmospheric and historically significant camps. Its circular, thatched rondavels overlook a broad curve of the river, offering uninterrupted views of wildlife along the banks. The camp blends rustic charm with thoughtful comfort, maintaining an intimate, timeless character that reflects its long-standing place in Zambian safari history. This will be your home for the next three nights — an ideal base for exploring one of the valley’s most extraordinary and wildlife-rich sectors.

After a final morning in the Nsefu Sector, your journey continues with a leisurely transfer back towards the central region of South Luangwa. As you travel, the scenery shifts from the wide floodplains and sweeping river loops of Nsefu to the woodlands and riverfront habitats that characterise this part of the park, offering changing landscapes and frequent wildlife encounters along the way.

Your next stop is Luangwa River Camp, set on an elevated bank overlooking a beautiful stretch of the Luangwa River. The camp’s airy chalets, natural materials and open design create a relaxed, contemporary feel while still embracing the surrounding wilderness. One of its defining features is the boat access across the river into the national park — a memorable and slightly adventurous way to begin each safari activity. With just a handful of rooms, peaceful river views and excellent access to productive wildlife areas, Luangwa River Camp provides a stylish yet down-to-earth base for your final two nights in the valley.
